FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What review classes are being offered in 2023?

For the 2023 review season, we’ll be offering in-person AP Review Classes and Regents Review Classes at Farmingdale State College.

What happens in a Long Island Regents Prep review course at Farmingdale State College?

Each highly-qualified, NYS-certified teacher provides students with review materials, outlines the course content and skills, introduces test-taking strategies, and reviews practice Regents, AP, ACT, and SAT questions. As NYS-certified teachers, we aim not only to help students pass the Regents exam, but to ensure they excel on their Regents, APs, ACTs, and SATs.

How long are the review courses?

Each Regents, AP, ACT, and SAT review class is a single-day session that meets from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM. There is a brief break every hour and a one-hour break for lunch.

When are the review courses offered?

See our courses page for Regents, AP, SAT, and ACT review course dates.

Where are the review courses held?

The courses are held in Gleeson Hall at Farmingdale State College, 2350 Broadhollow Road, Farmingdale, NY  11735.

What are the classrooms like?

Comfortable! Each state-of-the-art college classroom is air-conditioned with plenty of desks for student seating. In addition, instructors will have access to the latest multimedia presentation technology to enhance instruction.

What if I don’t understand something taught in class?

Students shouldn’t hesitate to ask questions, as there will be plenty of time during each session. In addition, instructors will be available to answer questions via email after the course is complete, right up to the day of the exam.

How do I register?

You can register online by credit card after completing our secure registration process. You can also register by check or money order by contacting us at (516) 847-1265.

How much does a course cost?

Regents review classes cost $200 each. AP review classes cost $250 each. SAT and ACT review classes cost $275 each.

How are your SAT and ACT Crash Courses different from other SAT review and ACT review programs?

Our SAT and ACT Review Classes are taught by certified teachers who have excelled on standardized exams and have attended elite colleges and universities. Unlike other SAT and ACT programs, we hire only experienced teachers with at least a Master’s degree, not recent college graduates or non-teachers. In addition, each course includes a custom SAT review book or ACT review book designed by master tutor and Ivy League alumnus Joshua Fialkow, whose SAT/ACT strategies and SAT/ACT practice questions have resulted in average increases of 300 points on the SAT. The Long Island SAT and ACT review course market can be overwhelming, so go with the most trusted name in local test prep.

Is this the same Regents Review company that offers classes at Adelphi, Molloy, and Hofstra?

No, we are not affiliated with the test prep companies that offer Regents review classes at Adelphi, Molloy, Hofstra, or Nassau Community College. Long Island Regents Prep is owned and operated by current NYS-certified public school teachers, and we aim to offer the most affordable Regents, AP, SAT, and ACT review classes on Long Island.

Where can I find the official NYS Regents, Advanced Placement, ACT, and SAT exam schedules?

Here is the official 2023 NYS Regents Exam Schedule, the 2023 AP Exam Schedule, the ACT schedule, and the SAT schedule.

What should students bring to class?

We provide review materials, pens, and folders, but students might want to bring additional writing utensils and paper, as well as a calculator for math, science, SAT, and ACT review classes. Students must also pack a lunch with snacks and drinks, as the dining hall on campus is not always open on weekends.

May I get a refund if I want to cancel my reservation?

Our policy is to provide a full refund as long as a cancellation is made at least TWO WEEKS before the course date. After that date, refunds are not available. We will, however, change a class at any time, free of charge, as long as we have seats available. Call or email us for more information.

What is the lunch policy?

There will be a one-hour lunch break during each review class. Students are required to bring lunch with them as food services are not available on the SUNY Farmingdale campus during the time of year that Long Island Regents Prep classes are in session. Parents may drop off lunch; the lunch break will be determined the morning of the classes.

Is there security on campus?

Yes! In addition to Farmingdale State College University Police, we hire NYS-certified school security guards for our review sessions.
